NetKyaad and UWI
KINGSTON, Jamaica ... January 5, 2004

Patrick Terrelonge's Internet service company, Infochannel, will contribute to the capital budget of the University of the West Indies by donating a percentage of the revenue from its "NetKyaad" Internet access card to the university.

The funds are being raised to help the University erect new buildings, purchase computers, and expand its curriculum.

The fund raising drive is being organized by the University of the West Indies Alumni Association (UWIAA), Jamaica Chapter-under the theme 'Great Things for UWI'.

"We are very happy about our collaboration with Infochannel," says Celia Francis, executive director of the UWIAA. "Funds raised from NetKyaad sales now go towards the UWI's capital budget for new buildings, computer equipment and the expansion of curriculum offerings."

The pre-paid card if purchased directly from Infochannel or DOCUSPOT at the main library building at UWI MONA Campus, will allow graduates of UWI to save $800 on membership fees for the alumni association.

Francis said that since the launch of the 'Great Things for UWI' initiative, some 600 graduates had joined the alumni association.

"Already we are seeing that through this program more people are being encouraged to give back to their alma-mater," she said. We also hope that graduates and other interested persons will realize that even the smallest monetary cotribuion can make a difference and will commit to giving back to the 'great things for uwi' on an annual basis."

Chief Executive Officer, Herman McDonald, said that collaboration with UWI was "a welcome extension of the partnership between the university and our company."

Since the launch of the KetKyaad, Infochannel has donated over $140,000 in value to the UWIAA 'great things' programme.
